The scale
The curious position taken by this young flamingo during feeding, it does look like a scale reflected in the water.
The young flamingos are distinguished from the older, for the plumage red and grayish-brown. They stop frequently in the Circeo National Park, where the photograph was taken. But there are only a few weeks flyng then further North towards the lagoon Orbertello or Tarquinia. |
