Where is the gift?
The bee-eater is certainly (together with King-fisher) the more beautiful between the winged italian fauna. Certainly the most colorful. In the period of courtship the male captures prey, usually a small insect, and brings it to the female that awaits him laid. This gift has a function of courtship and the formation of a new pair for reproductive purposes. But here the gift is not there and I have the impression that the right bee-eater is complaining . |
