The young marmot
The marmot recently born, filled with pampering her parent in a moment of relaxation between one alarm and the next. These sciurids photographed on the Plain Meson, Aosta Valley, build their nests by digging tunnels under the ground and weaving them together. When there is calm stationed near the den. But there is always someone in the colony that remains alert and soon sees a danger (usually an Eagle) launches an alarm whistle. And then the whole colony disappears like lightning in their dens.
