The simbol
Passionflower (Passiflora caerulea) is, for me, one of the flowers most beautiful to be found anywhere in nature. in fact, It has a strong symbolic religious meaning. Many believe that this flower climbed on the cross of dying Christ. Hence the identification of some parts of the plant with the religious symbols of the Passion of Christ: the tendrils the whip with which he was scourged; the three styles, the nails; the stamens, the hammer; the radially crown, the crown of thorns and the ten petals the apostles except Judas and Peter.
